Total time in my mp3 collection hard drive, those 9000+ files: 817 hours, 33 minutes, 15 seconds.

I could listen to my collection for more than an entire month, 24/7, and not repeat anything...and that's not counting the tons of stuff still on cdroms to be copied onto here, and then there are still quite a few cds not ripped, and video concerts not digitized...

Of course, since it's all digitized, you could cut down the time by listening to six at once, at four times normal speed, all through the same speakers! All it takes is the ability to focus and multitask at the same time, right?

I wonder if there are people who specialize in listening to several at once, experts who would say (in snootiest of voices, of course) that you absolutely cannot listen to Aerosmith and Beethoven at the same time, a better blending achieved by the Eagles and good ol' Ludwig if you are listening to his classical works, but definitely combine Boston with Beethoven if listening to his romantic works.

Of course, I sometimes wonder about strange things...
