Fiscally conservative, but liberal/libertarian in lifestyle lawmaking:
"You have to believe in total equality. People should be able to be what they want to be and do what they want as long as they're not harming people." -- Clint Eastwood, on same-sex marriages, in US Weekly.

"I like the libertarian view, which is to leave everyone alone. Even as a kid, I was annoyed by people who wanted to tell everyone how to live." -- Eastwood, on his political leanings, in US Weekly.
"Well, you know me, you know where I stand. If anybody wants a beer, I'll be across the street." -- Mayoral Candidate Eastwood, as parodied by Doonesbury in 1987.

y'know, that's what republicans used to stand for. If they still did, I might be voting for them. Of course, if they still did, the democratic party would probably be in a different place than it is now, and I might, too. Good quotes, though. (Especially from the guy whose drug use convictions resulted in the community service PSA's on "don't use crack" that were in the theatres for about 4 years. I Undenyably like his above-quoted views on politics)
